Amateur paleontologist Clyde Wynia has painstakingly excavated and recreated these now-extinct creatures using ferrous metals such as mild steel, stainless steel, and high carbon alloys. Unfortunately, the industrialization and acid rain of the mid-19th century led to the extinction of many species.
