## Description

Just Like You Films (JLYF) is a women-run, Mid American Emmy Award-winning nonprofit film production company founded in 2009. It uses cinematic storytelling to encourage empathy and help create a kinder, more compassionate world. The organization has produced 12 documentaries and is developing its first feature-length docudrama, with stories addressing topics including autism, Down syndrome, cancer, burn injuries, facial differences, type 1 diabetes, anxiety, depression, and food allergies.

Its film offerings include documentaries, narrative shorts, and immersive virtual reality experiences. The May Contain collection focuses on food allergy awareness and is presented through screenings, schools, festivals, and other platforms. JLYF also offers the Empathy Engine, a licensed, story-driven learning system that helps organizations incorporate films into learning, communication, and care, supported by tools for reflection, dialogue, and practical application.

Through its films, resources, events, and partnerships, Just Like You Films works with communities and organizations to make personal experiences more understood. Supporters can contribute donations to help expand outreach and continue producing films.
