## Description

Kagyu Monlam is a prestigious international prayer festival held annually in Bodhgaya, India, a significant pilgrimage site for Buddhists. Founded in the 15th century by the 7th Karmapa, this vibrant gathering draws thousands of monks, nuns, and lay followers from over 50 countries who come together to engage in prayer for global peace and the well-being of all beings. Since His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, took charge in 2004, the festival has evolved into a large-scale event featuring teachings, empowerments, and community service initiatives, including environmental and health projects for locals.

During the festival, participants share communal meals and stay in traditional setups reminiscent of the ancient Tibetan encampments. The prayer recitations and materials are accessible in numerous languages, fostering inclusivity among attendees and online viewers. The Kagyu Monlam not only revitalizes spiritual practices but also embodies the aspiration for love, compassion, and wisdom to shine throughout the world, echoing the Karmapa's vision for a harmonious humanity.
