## Description

Kaihatsu Karate-do is a karate school serving Burgum and the surrounding area in the Netherlands. It offers a welcoming way for children and young people to enjoy exercise while improving fitness, confidence, and resilience. Training presents karate as a martial art rooted in self-defence and personal development, supporting both physical and mental improvement as well as practical skills for situations where self-defence is needed.

Prospective students can attend four trial lessons at no cost to discover whether karate suits them. Regular classes take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at Quatum Fit in Burgum. Youth sessions are for ages six to around twelve, with a separate class for teenagers aged around thirteen and older.

The school’s teacher, Michiel Commandeur, has taught there since 2012 and brings more than thirty years of karate training experience. Kaihatsu Karate-do is affiliated with the Karate-do Bond Nederland. Its approach combines enjoyable movement with achievable challenges, helping students progress steadily while learning in a supportive group setting.
