## Description

Kakofoni is a volunteer-run lecture association connected with Nordic Language and Literature and Literary History at Aarhus University. While drawing on its university connections and literary expertise, the association aims to contribute to Aarhus’s wider cultural life and welcomes everyone, not only university students or staff. Its program brings researchers and writers together with audiences to explore literature, language, and relevant social and cultural questions through themed events. Offerings have included author talks, readings, conversations, writing workshops, and livestreams, as well as events developed in connection with festivals such as LiteratureXchange and Aarhundredets Festival. Past programs have addressed topics ranging from Oulipo-inspired writing and close relationships to literature’s engagement with climate change and the poetry of Sappho. Kakofoni also shares news, reports, and material from its event archive, helping audiences revisit previous activities and discover the ideas behind them. Through these public events and editorial features, the association creates an accessible meeting place for readers, writers, researchers, and anyone interested in literature and its place in contemporary life.
