## Description

Kalfos ry is a Finnish patient association supporting people living with X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), hypophosphatasia (HPP), and other forms of hypophosphatemic rickets, as well as their families and close supporters. The association connects people affected by these rare conditions and provides peer support at different stages of life. It also advocates for patients’ rights and works to promote access to the best possible care across Finland, including more equal treatment and improved standards of care. Kalfos aims to raise awareness of the conditions it represents and, where possible, support related scientific research. Its work is guided by the values of equality, openness, and expertise. People can join as ordinary members, with annual fees listed for adults and children, or as supporting members who contribute to the association’s activities. Members can take part in events, give and receive peer support, and influence the association’s work. Kalfos also shares health-related news and organizes gatherings, meetings, and awareness activities, including events connected to international XLH Day and Rare Disease Day.
