## Description

Inocho Paper Museum is a cultural institution in Ino Town, Kochi Prefecture, dedicated to promoting Tosa washi, the region’s traditional handmade paper. Opened in 1985, the museum introduces the history and culture of washi, including its raw materials, tools, and production methods. Tosa washi has a history of more than a thousand years and developed as an important local specialty, supported by generations of papermakers and improvements to papermaking techniques.

Visitors can explore permanent displays, watch demonstrations of handmade papermaking, and take part in hands-on paper-making experiences. The museum also has a shop selling paper-related products and holds temporary exhibitions, special exhibitions, cultural presentations, and events. Its program includes opportunities for artists and the public to share creative work, such as printmaking exhibitions, postcard-art shows, and a handmade picture-theatre competition. Exhibition spaces are also available for cultural activities. Through its exhibits, experiences, events, and sales, the museum connects visitors with the craft and continuing cultural importance of Tosa washi.
