## Description

Kann Restaurant in Portland, Oregon, is a culinary gem that beautifully marries Haitian cuisine with the fresh flavors of the Pacific Northwest. Founded by James Beard Award-winning chef Gregory Gourdet, kann embodies a commitment to sustainability in every aspect, from ingredient sourcing to team welfare. The restaurant's name, which means cane in Haitian Creole, pays homage to Chef Gregory’s childhood memories of sugar cane vendors in Haiti, infusing the dining experience with a sense of cultural heritage. The menu features a rich array of savory Haitian dishes, showcasing tropical ingredients like Scotch bonnet chili, plantains, and root vegetables, alongside seasonal local produce. Signature offerings are complemented by an innovative drink program, including unique cocktails, a selection of local craft beers, and an expertly curated wine list. Since its emergence as a pop-up during the pandemic, kann has garnered numerous accolades, including recognition as one of the Best New Restaurants by Esquire and the James Beard Awards. Experience the vibrant flavors and warm hospitality at kann, where every meal is a celebration of heritage and creativity.
