Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters is a brand that believes in the potential of all youth and strives to provide them with the opportunity to achieve success in life. Through one-to-one mentorship, they match youth facing adversity with caring adult mentors, known as Bigs. This mentoring relationship inspires greater self-confidence, improves academic performance, and nurtures dreams for the future.

The ultimate vision of Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters is for all Kansas youth to earn a living wage by age 25. They serve Kansas youth between the ages of 5 and 25 who are grappling with various challenges related to self-confidence, friendships, school, or family situations. Recognizing that entering adulthood is a critical time for their Littles, they offer ongoing support and guidance until the age of 25.

This support is aimed at helping them navigate life as young adults, with the ultimate goal that they will achieve financial stability by 25. The organization serves a diverse group of youth, with 85% living at or below the poverty level, 20% having an annual combined household income of less than $15,000, and 80% coming from single-parent homes. Additionally, 60% come from homes facing drug and/or alcohol abuse, 40% have witnessed or experienced domestic violence, 30% have had at least one incarcerated parent, and 25% also receive services from the Department of Children and Families.

To support their mission and make a difference in the lives of these youth, individuals can become mentors (Bigs), enroll a youth in the program, or refer a youth in need. For those wanting to contribute financially, donations are also accepted.
