## Description

Karabiner Mountaineering Club (KMC) is a Manchester-based outdoor club founded in 1944. It brings together people who enjoy climbing, walking and mountaineering, with meets running every week throughout the year, including regular midweek evening events. Weekend activities take place across the UK and abroad, offering members and prospective visitors opportunities to explore and get to know the club community.

KMC’s activities extend beyond rock climbing and hill-walking to include scrambling, winter mountaineering, ice climbing, wild swimming, fell running, skiing and mountain biking. The club also provides informal skills sharing, helping participants build confidence and develop their abilities. People do not need to be members to attend a meet as a prospective visitor, and the club welcomes people from all backgrounds.

Members can access the KMC community, training and skills-sharing opportunities, BMC third-party liability insurance, and the club’s mountain hut near Llanberis in Wales. The hut is available for use through the club’s booking arrangements.
