The Karmapa’s Healthcare Project (KHCP e.V.) is a non-profit charitable association founded in 2005 under the guidance of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje. Based in Kalimpong, India, and registered in Germany, KHCP is dedicated to improving health outcomes for monks, nuns, and underserved local communities in India and Nepal. KHCP provides mobile medical and dental camps, particularly during their annual camp in Bodhgaya, offering thousands of treatments each year. Collaborating with Dhulikhel University Hospital in Kathmandu, they create valuable learning opportunities for medical students and local healthcare workers. The initiative also has established health centers in monasteries to serve as community health resources. With a focus on humanitarian aid, BHCP combines Western scientific approaches with social work, striving to address both healthcare and educational needs in the region.
