## Description

Katilvik is an online resource and community for discovering, learning about, and researching Inuit and Canadian First Nations art and the artists who create it. Created in 2006 by Waddington’s Auctioneers and Appraisers as a resource for people interested in Inuit art, the site has since expanded to include First Nations art. Its searchable artist databases help visitors explore artists by name, settlement, or heritage, while auction data presents results and analytics, upcoming sales, and examples of recently sold works. Katilvik also offers archival materials, artist resources, glossaries, timelines, and links to relevant websites and media. An interactive map provides information about Inuit regions and communities, with English and Inuktitut place names, and a syllabic translator supports users exploring Inuktitut writing. The site features news and regularly added content, aiming to remain a dynamic source for art research and discovery. Through its appraisal service, Katilvik also connects visitors with appraisal offerings from Waddington’s. Its resources serve collectors, researchers, and anyone seeking to learn more about these distinctive art traditions.
