## Description

The Kalamazoo Humane Society, based in Kalamazoo, MI, is an animal welfare organization dedicated to addressing pet overpopulation and promoting affordable access to veterinary care. Unlike traditional shelters or rescues, the Kalamazoo Humane Society focuses on prevention and providing resources to help pet owners keep their furry companions. Their comprehensive services include spay and neuter surgeries for cats and dogs, with an impressive track record of over 80,000 procedures since 2002. They also operate an Emergency Pet Food Bank, which supplied 51,904 pounds of food and cat litter to 751 clients in 2020. Additionally, they provide dog houses to ensure pets living outdoors have proper shelter. Through these initiatives, the Kalamazoo Humane Society is making a significant impact in the community. They prioritize the well-being of animals and strive to keep pets out of rescues and shelters. With a dedicated team and a variety of programs, they offer solutions to pet owners facing challenges. To support their mission, you can donate, volunteer your time, or participate in their Spay It Forward program. The Kalamazoo Humane Society is committed to creating a compassionate and responsible community for pets and their owners. Contact them or visit their office during the weekdays for more information.
