K&B Transportation is a trusted and experienced family-owned carrier that specializes in the transportation of perishable food products. With a focus on delivering on-time service, we have been serving our valued customers since 1987. Our story began with humble beginnings in Sioux City, IA, where our founder, Ken Ackerman, started with a fleet of 25 tractors and 85 meat rail trailers.

Initially hauling carcass meat for IBP, we soon expanded our services to cover freight transportation across the Greater Midwest when IBP decided to handle their own transportation. Over the years, we have relocated to South Sioux City, NE, to be closer to IBP plants and acquire other transportation companies such as Artex Transportation and Marx truck line. As a result, our fleet has grown to over 2,000 pieces of equipment, and we have expanded our lanes of travel.

We even built a secondary facility to accommodate our recruiting, safety/logs, driver classroom, and body shop. At K&B Transportation, our mission is to be the top provider of perishable transportation value while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
