About

Description

Kehilla Residential Programme (Kehilla) is a community housing agency established in 1982 by the UJA Federation. Dedicated to addressing the housing needs of the Jewish community in the Greater Toronto Area, Kehilla champions affordable housing initiatives through various avenues. Through education, awareness, project sponsorship, development consultation, and research, Kehilla works to make housing more accessible for all.

One of Kehilla's key programs is the Rental Assistance Program (RAP), which provides up to $400 per month to households in need, enabling them to afford their housing. Working with developers, Kehilla also integrates low-rent and inclusive housing into rental and condominium developments, further expanding affordable housing options. Alongside their mission to provide affordable housing, Kehilla also strives to connect individuals to the Jewish community, enhancing their quality of life and overall well-being.

Their efforts have made a significant impact on individuals like Orit, a domestic abuse survivor who now feels safe and part of a caring community. Kehilla relies on the support of donors from various backgrounds, such as real estate developers, foundations, and philanthropists, who share a commitment to improving accessibility to affordable housing in the Greater Toronto Area. With the belief that affordable housing is a pressing issue, Kehilla continues to work diligently to address the housing needs of the community and connect vulnerable individuals to a supportive Jewish community.
