## Description

Il-Forn Ta' Kemmuna is a visionary initiative founded by environmentalist Martin Galea DeGiovanni, stemming from a serendipitous discovery of a neglected bakery in Comino during the 1990s. The project aims to transform this historic site into a dynamic education center focused on sustainability, environmental research, and the rich cultural heritage of Malta, particularly its beloved bread culture. As the building deteriorates, the urgency to restore it has never been greater.

The project is heavily influenced by the principles upheld by Friends of the Earth Malta, an organization dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices. They advocate for policies that protect Comino's natural beauty from commercialization, such as limiting visitor numbers and enforcing responsible waste management.

Il-Forn Ta' Kemmuna represents a heartfelt invitation to the community for workshops, retreats, and collaborative efforts to build a sustainable future rooted in respect for nature. By creating a hub of education and engagement, the initiative seeks to safeguard the island’s ecological and cultural legacies for generations to come.
