## Description

Kendo Montpellier Université Club is a kendo club in Montpellier, France, founded in 2002. It welcomes both experienced practitioners and people beginning their study of the Japanese way of the sword. The club has six qualified instructors, including Pierre Lheureux, a Kyoshi seventh-dan practitioner and former international referee. Regular classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7 p.m., with schedules and practical information provided for prospective members.

Alongside weekly training, the club organizes and hosts kendo seminars, including regional events and sessions led by guest instructors. Its website shares news, event listings, registration details, membership fees, and information about obtaining the required French judo federation licence. It also helps newcomers learn about practice, equipment, etiquette, and the distinction between sport and martial art. For members interested in the wider culture of kendo, the club offers resources such as a glossary, bibliography, media, and an interview with Pierre Lheureux. Kendo Montpellier Université Club combines instruction, community activities, and cultural resources to support participation at different experience levels.
