## Description

Ken Liss is a retired librarian, former newspaper reporter, and local historian whose website brings together his research, writing, and wide-ranging interests. After 29 years working in libraries and related organizations, he retired in June 2021 as Head of Liaison and Instruction Services at Boston University Libraries. His earlier library roles included positions at Boston College, Harvard Business School, the Boston Public Library, Associated Grantmakers, and Springshare, a library software company.

Liss has volunteered as head of the historical society in Brookline, Massachusetts, since 2009. His work explores Brookline’s local history, the origins of words and phrases, and baseball history, including baseball terminology. He also edits and creates Wikipedia articles and writes about assorted subjects that capture his curiosity. The site serves as a central home for these projects, along with reflections and ideas that do not fit elsewhere. Visitors can browse sections devoted to Brookline, etymology, baseball, Wikipedia, and miscellaneous topics, and follow Liss through his social media links.
