## Description

Christmas Prelude is an annual holiday celebration in Kennebunkport, Maine, presented by the Kennebunkport Business Association. Scheduled for December 3–13, 2026, the 11-day event brings residents and visitors together for festive community activities across the Kennebunks. Its program features tree-lighting ceremonies, holiday caroling, fireworks, a family street festival, and seasonal visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Signature traditions include Santa’s arrival by lobster boat and fire engine, a children’s hat parade, a dog parade, candlelight caroling at the Franciscan Monastery, and a storybook gathering at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust. Many events are free and open to the public, with activities for children, families, and visitors of all ages. Christmas Prelude also provides practical resources to help guests plan their visit, including an event guide, a mobile app, schedule information, and parking and shuttle details. The event offers official Christmas Prelude merchandise through its Swag Shack, while VIP experiences and other event updates are shared through its website and app.
