## Description

Kennedy Marques is a Manaus city councilor and animal-welfare advocate whose public work focuses on protecting animals, supporting responsible care, and advancing environmental and public health causes. Born and raised in Manaus, he began rescuing animals around 17 years ago and founded the animal-protection association Anjos de Rua in 2015. The organization has provided affordable sterilization for more than 150,000 animals, according to the site.

As a councilor elected in 2020, Marques has promoted and supported legislation addressing animal welfare. Measures highlighted include requiring assistance for animals injured in road accidents, establishing a hotline for reporting cruelty, restricting animal custody for people convicted of abuse, and allowing animals on Manaus beaches and bathing areas. His work also includes environmental oversight and participation in municipal committees on the environment and health.

The site presents community initiatives such as Um Dia Bom pra Cachorro, which offers free services including vaccinations, deworming, and veterinary care. Other activities include solidarity transport and grooming, school talks, and environmental actions.
