Kennisnet

Kennisnet is a public organization dedicated to Education & ICT in the Netherlands. As a national ICT-infrastructure provider, Kennisnet plays a crucial role in advising sector councils and sharing knowledge with primary education, secondary education, and vocational education and training institutions. By collaborating with sector councils, Kennisnet helps schools realize their ambitions through the effective use of ICT.

Kennisnet's activities revolve around three key areas: creating a national ICT-infrastructure, providing strategic advice, and offering expertise. They ensure that necessary public services are available to the educational sector, promote sharing of digital educational services, and ensure efficiency in managing information chains. Additionally, Kennisnet strengthens the position of schools by bridging the gap between supply and demand in digital materials.

Their expertise lies in developing and distributing knowledge on utilizing ICT effectively and efficiently, digital materials, organizing education, and preparing students for 21st-century skills. This knowledge benefits school boards, leaders, managers, and teachers, primarily through online platforms. Funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, Kennisnet follows a supervisory board model, consisting of five members and an independent chairperson appointed by sector councils.
