## Description

The Kentucky Thoroughbred Development Fund (KTDF) actively supports the thoroughbred racing industry in Kentucky by enhancing purses for races involving Kentucky-sired and foaled horses. A key initiative of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association, KTDF allocates funds generated from a portion of all wagers placed on live thoroughbred races and historical horse races conducted in the state. This financial backing impacts various types of races including stakes, handicap, allowance, nonclaiming maiden, and claiming races held at licensed tracks throughout Kentucky.

Registration for eligible horses and stallions can conveniently be done online, ensuring that they qualify for purse supplements based on KTDF regulations. KTDF not only benefits horse owners but also enhances the overall racing experience by increasing the competitiveness of the purses. With the KTDF seal marking applicable races, participants can easily identify events featuring additional KTDF funding. Ultimately, KTDF strengthens Kentucky's rich thoroughbred legacy, promoting economic growth and supporting local stakeholders within the industry.
