## Description

A Kentucky Christmas is a Lexington, Kentucky, live music project created to bring a new holiday tradition to the community while supporting a charitable cause. Its first annual concert was scheduled for December 8, 2017, at the historic Lyric Theatre in downtown Lexington. The event was designed as a festive performance showcasing Kentucky talent, with Christmas music, elegant staging, and contributions from local and professional musicians.

The concert featured singer-songwriter Buffy Lawson, a two-time Grammy-nominated recording artist, alongside musical arrangements and direction by Doug Oatley and performances by the Metrognomes, Lexington’s professional big band. Other featured talent included vocalist Jo Sickles and speed painter Aaron Kizer. A portion of ticket sales was intended to benefit Alive Inside, an organization that raises awareness of music’s effects on people with Alzheimer’s disease.

A Kentucky Christmas also invited businesses to sponsor the production. Sponsorship benefits included recognition across television, radio, print, online, social media, and playbill advertising, as well as VIP seating and backstage passes for guests.
