## Description

KetteGear is a Danish fishing-gear company founded by childhood friends Kristian Thomassen and Rasmus Høtoft. Combining Kristian’s fly-fishing experience with Rasmus’s mechanical engineering and product-development expertise, the company created BasKette, its first product: a handmade stripping basket designed for coastal fly fishing.

Priced at €176 including VAT, BasKette is made from lightweight foam with a hard shell. It floats and drains through holes in its base, helping it stay usable when waves wash over it. Five tall spikes keep fly line separated, while a double-sided line lock helps prevent wind and waves from pulling it out. Other practical features include a magnet for holding a fly, a rod holder, an adjustable belt attached to the outside, and a 25-centimetre ruler marked every five centimetres. Its interior diagonal measures 40 centimetres, and the basket is solid enough to use as a seat.

KetteGear offers BasKette directly by email and invites shops and resellers to become dealers. The company also shares product videos, though the videos are in Danish.
