## Description

Kevin Hwang is a Houston-based internal medicine physician and award-winning author whose fiction draws on his medical experience and interest in human nature under extreme circumstances. His debut novel, The Regression Strain, is a fast-paced medical thriller with psychological suspense. Set aboard the Paradise, a cruise ship crossing the Atlantic, the story follows Dr. Peter Palma as a mysterious affliction triggers violence and threatens the bonds of civil society. With the ship approaching New York, Palma must confront the danger while struggling with his own delirium. The novel explores the collision of science, instinct, morality, and survival, and is available in ebook, paperback, and hardcover editions. It has received multiple honors, including the 2025 Independent Author Network Book of the Year Award in the Thriller category and a gold medal in the General Thriller category of the 2025 Readers’ Favorite International Book Award Contest. Hwang’s website offers information about the novel, his biography, awards and media, and medical thrillers, as well as a newsletter called The Book Rx for reader updates.
