Khwopa Engineering College (KhEC) is Nepal's first community-based engineering college, established in 2001 as an undertaking of Bhaktapur Municipality — making it a unique institution governed and funded by local government rather than private or central state interests. Affiliated to Purbanchal University and located at Libali in the historic city of Bhaktapur, the college operates under the guiding motto Dedicated to People and Country.
