## Description

Khelo India is the flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at enhancing grassroots sports participation and development across the nation. Launched in 2017, the scheme focuses on building a robust sports ecosystem through strategic pillars such as improved infrastructure, competitive leagues, and talent identification programs. Khelo India also emphasizes the integration of sports and education, promoting a holistic approach to athlete development under the Khelo Bharat Niti.

The initiative includes various components like the establishment of Khelo India Centres, organized competitions, and facilities for training coaches and support staff. Additionally, it seeks to foster a culture of fitness and sport in line with the Fit India Movement. With a vision for Olympic success, Khelo India aspires to position India among the top ten Olympic nations by 2036, while also emphasizing social development through sports participation. By encouraging a national sports culture, Khelo India aims to transform the landscape of Indian sports while ensuring inclusivity and community cohesion.
