## Description

The East of England Agricultural Society (EEAS) is a registered charity founded in 1797 to promote agriculture and rural life. Based at the East of England Showground in Peterborough, it supports farming, food, education and rural communities across the UK, with a particular focus on Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. Its charitable work develops agricultural skills and understanding among the workforce and the public.

EEAS offers grants, scholarships and educational initiatives for farmers, students and professionals pursuing training, study or projects that benefit agriculture. The Scholars Programme helps people in agriculture and related industries access career-building courses and experiences, while the Marshal Papworth Fund enables people from developing countries to study agriculture and horticulture in the UK. Kids Country provides hands-on learning about food, farming and the countryside for children. The Society also develops County Grants for local projects that strengthen agriculture and rural communities through practical initiatives, education and community engagement. Alongside its funding programmes, EEAS shares industry news and updates, supports professional development, and offers membership and long-service awards.
