## Description

Kids Fishing Festival is a community event in Mammoth Lakes, California, dedicated to introducing children and families to fishing and outdoor learning. Its 38th annual festival is scheduled for July 31, 2027, at SnowCreek Ponds, with activities running from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free for children aged 14 and under, and fishing rods and reels are provided, though families may bring their own. Stocked trout, volunteer fishing guides, and complimentary fish cleaning help children learn to fish and take their catch home.

The festival also offers educational experiences led by California Department of Fish and Wildlife staff and other participating groups. Children can explore trout life cycles, aquatic insects, and wildlife, practice casting, and try archery. Special booths, loaner equipment, coloring materials, and junior fishing licenses add to the hands-on activities. Local mascots provide entertainment and photo opportunities, while guides offer instruction to children and parents. The event is supported by the Town of Mammoth Lakes, SnowCreek Resort, Desert Springs Trout Farm, and community volunteers.
