Kids in Nutrition (KIN) is a brand dedicated to empowering the younger generation and instilling in them the knowledge and skills needed to lead sustainable and healthy lives through nutrition and food sustainability education. With a focus on improving nutrition and food systems knowledge, KIN aims to inspire positive food preference choices during children's formative years. By targeting marginalized communities, where educational and health disparities exist, KIN strives to address the disproportionate risk of chronic diseases. By mobilizing local community resources and spearheading grassroots change, KIN has created teams of university volunteer instructors who visit elementary classrooms to teach evidence-based lessons over a span of seven weeks. These lessons include interactive visuals, hands-on games, physical activities, and group work to make nutrition and food sustainability relevant and engaging. KIN also has chapters across California, Massachusetts, and Indiana, with the goal of establishing chapters at every major university in the United States. Through their education and community-based initiatives, KIN aims to create a movement that will have a long-lasting impact on individuals, their peers, and future generations. Donations to KIN, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, are tax-deductible.
