## Description

Kabitirtha Institute of Development & Studies (KIDS) is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to educational excellence and social equity in West Bengal. Established in 2003, it works to expand opportunities for students from Bengali-, Hindi-, and Urdu-medium backgrounds, particularly in rural and semi-urban communities. Its programs identify talented students, support their academic development, and help reduce financial and geographic barriers to education.

KIDS’ flagship initiative, Project UDAAN, includes the Students Evaluation Test (SET), a standardized assessment conducted across examination zones in districts including Murshidabad, Nadia, Malda, Birbhum, Burdwan, Hooghly, and North and South 24 Parganas. The program offers academic assessment, full and partial scholarships for top performers, medals and certificates recognizing achievement, and mentorship through career guidance and academic tracking. KIDS also provides teacher training to strengthen educational practice and offers membership for people who wish to support its work. Through these services, the institute aims to help students realize their potential and connect local talent with wider opportunities.
