## Description

Kier’s Hope Foundation is an organization focused on raising awareness of sickle cell disease and supporting patients, families, and people who are less fortunate. Through community events, education, and opportunities to get involved, it aims to encourage engagement and share information about the disease and its care. Its annual Sickle Cell Disease 5K Fun Run and Walk brings patients, families, and community members together to build awareness and learn about developments in treatment. The event features activities for children, music, games, raffles, and discussions on topics such as new medications, bone marrow transplants, gene therapy, research, transfusion medicine, pain management, and navigating school. Kier’s Hope also organizes Junior Claus and holiday support initiatives, including Christmas in July. Its other programs include the “Living Your Life” lifestyle talk show, hosted by Kier Spates with co-host Corey Hebert, MD, and a blood drive and donation outreach. The foundation promotes Sickle Cell Awareness Month in Texas and hosts events nationwide, while inviting supporters to donate, volunteer, and subscribe for updates.
