## Description

Kiezwald Berlin is a community initiative that creates small urban forests using the Tiny Forest® concept. Working with schools, kindergartens, neighbors, and other local groups, the organization plans, plants, cares for, and monitors compact woodland areas in Berlin. These sites can include up to 25 tree species and, according to Kiezwald, may support more than 500 animal and plant species within their first three years. The shared work also gives residents opportunities to connect with one another and engage with urban nature.

Kiezwald offers workshops and community events focused on biodiversity, plant identification, city climate, green-space care, and the role of Tiny Forests. Activities have included citizen-science and monitoring sessions designed for families, as well as discussions about urban nature and climate adaptation. The organization has worked with the Max-Delbrück-Gymnasium community in Pankow since 2021, supporting the development of its first Tiny Forest, planted in 2022. People can participate in projects and events, become supporting members, subscribe to updates, or contribute through donations.
