## Description

The County Kildare Archaeological Society, established on April 25, 1891, holds the title of the oldest society in Ireland continuing under the same name. Nestled in the rich historical landscape of County Kildare, the Society has dedicated over 120 years to preserving and celebrating the region's archaeological heritage. Founded at Palmerstown House, the Society’s mission is to collect, protect, and present the historical records and traditions of Kildare, fostering a deep appreciation for archaeology among its members and the broader community.

The Society actively organizes engaging events, including lectures and outings, aimed at promoting awareness of local history and archaeology. Members can participate in exclusive excursions and educational programs that culminate in the biannual publication of their journal, which serves as a scholarly resource for enthusiasts and researchers alike. Through its efforts, the County Kildare Archaeological Society not only honors its founding vision but also cultivates a lasting legacy of heritage appreciation and scholarly inquiry in Ireland.
