## Description

Kim’s Academy of Taekwondo is a martial arts school in Salt Lake City, Utah, serving students since 1984. The academy offers Olympic-style Taekwondo, Korean Karate (Hapkido), and self-defense classes for children, teens, and adults, welcoming students of all skill levels. Its age-based training and structured belt curriculum guide learners through techniques, classroom customs, testing requirements, and promotion readiness. Classes emphasize balance, timing, endurance, awareness, controlled power, and responsible decision-making, while also helping students build confidence, discipline, and practical self-defense skills. Training includes board breaking, anti-bullying lessons, and preparation for belt examinations, with instructors assessing attendance, knowledge, conduct, and technique. The teaching team includes Grandmaster Yong Woo Kim, a 9th Dan black belt, alongside experienced Taekwondo masters and a junior instructor. Located at 1602 E 2100 S, the academy serves Salt Lake City and nearby South Salt Lake and Millcreek. Kim’s Academy offers a free introductory class, giving prospective students an opportunity to meet instructors and experience its training. Classes are available at scheduled times throughout the week.
