## Description

Kindred is a unique venture capital brand that embraces a groundbreaking model where every founder they invest in becomes a co-owner of the fund. This innovative approach, known as equitable venture, aims to align the brand's ambitions and achievements with the entrepreneurs they support. Not only the founders, but also the advisers and team members are included in sharing the upside of the fund. With a minimum of 20% of the fund's profits distributed among the co-owners, Kindred ensures that every entrepreneur benefits from the success of others in their network. The brand achieves this by allocating carry points to each entrepreneur, distributing them equally among companies and pro-rata to the founders' shareholding. Just like an options pool, these carry points gradually vest over five years, culminating in complete vesting on the 5th anniversary. In case of unforeseen circumstances like a business underperformance or acquisition, founders are still considered co-owners unless classified as a 'bad leaver'. Kindred designed their fund structure to foster relationships, reputation, and remarkable investments that ultimately result in significant influence and returns for all co-owners.
