## Description

Kindred Post is a unique post office located in the heart of downtown Juneau, Alaska. Founded in 2014 by artist/activist Christy NaMee Eriksen, Kindred Post is more than just a place to send mail – it's a hub of art, community, and social justice. At Kindred Post, they value interdependence and cultivate a sense of belonging in their neighborhood and beyond. As a BIPOC-, woman-, and locally-owned small business, Kindred Post is committed to supporting their team, artists, families, and communities. With joy and imagination guiding their work, Kindred Post puts art at the center of everything they do. They believe in the power of artists to tell stories, bring people together, and inspire positive social change. Kindred Post operates as a post office, connecting people and serving as a third place for social engagement. They also function as a gift shop, showcasing the work of over 200 diverse artists and mentoring emerging artists. As a gathering space, they bring people together through various art and social programming, frequently partnering with neighboring businesses, media, and nonprofit organizations. Additionally, Kindred Post takes care of their community as a good neighbor, leveraging their identity to advocate for social good and elevate the role of artists as leaders in civic conversations. When you shop at Kindred Post, you are not only supporting local artists and businesses but also contributing to the vision of a shared liberation. (source: kindredpost.com).
