## Description

Keeping It Real (KIR) Foundation is a non-profit and non-governmental organization established in 2010 with a mission to inspire change through learning. We believe that lifelong learning is crucial for addressing educational and socio-economic issues. Our primary focus is on closing educational gaps and advocating for the rights of underserved and marginalized individuals, including vulnerable children, youth, persons with disabilities, prison inmates, women, and local communities. Through our sustainable programs in education, advocacy, capacity, and sustainable development, we aim to break the cycle of illiteracy, poverty, and inequality. Our initiatives include donating books, implementing educational quality improvement projects, and promoting inclusive community development. Since our inception, we have worked with over 180 institutions in 36 states in Nigeria and Ghana, reaching more than 80,044 people. We have donated 43,212 books, educational aids, starter kits, and farming implements. Additionally, we have published educational materials such as The Young Leader's Guide and It's About Empathy, a guide to the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2018. Currently, we are collaborating with stakeholders from the public, corporate, and social sectors to provide employment opportunities for youth and ensure access to books for those in need. By 2023, our goal is to link 1,600 youth to employment and distribute over 70,000 books to underserved beneficiaries.
