## Description

Kiri Westby is a human rights activist, international writer, and author whose work draws on years spent working alongside feminists on the frontlines of war zones. She is dedicated to telling stories that matter and uses her writing to explore personal experience and broader social issues. Westby’s first book, Fortune Favors the Brave: An Extraordinary Memoir, was published in 2020. The memoir offers readers a vivid account of her experiences and the women whose courage and commitment shaped her world. To mark its release, Westby planned a US book tour, traveling with her family in a 1984 Volkswagen van to visit independent bookstores and talk with readers about issues they hope to change. Her website also features blog posts, interviews, information about the book, and a newsletter with updates on her writing and projects. Westby directs 10 percent of her proceeds from the book toward the work of Urgent Action Fund for Women’s Human Rights and Students for a Free Tibet.
