## Description

The Short Film Directors Association (KFYD) is a Turkish cinema organization founded in January 2018 to defend the rights of short-film makers and strengthen the short-film community. It works with festivals to facilitate copyright payments for films included in their programs and promotes standards intended to improve festival practices and jury selection. Its initiatives include the Top Shorts International Short Film Festival, a documentary jury, and the Top Shorts Film Design screenplay competition, which recognizes work across the stages of short-film production. KFYD also offers a range of activities and resources, including film screenings, cinema education, film discussions, interviews, an online forum, and a short-film archive. Through its social responsibility work, the association has sought to support women studying cinema with monthly scholarships. It welcomes both experienced film professionals and people who have not yet made a film, aiming to encourage collaboration and new projects among producers, directors, screenwriters, cinematographers, and actors. The association also holds online member meetings and has pursued plans to expand its organization across Turkey.
