## Description

Kishu An, established in 1917 during the Japanese colonial era, is a cultural landmark located by the scenic banks of the Xindian River in Taipei. Initially a Japanese-style teahouse run by the Hiramatsu family, Kishu An has evolved into a vibrant center for literature and community engagement. In 2004, it was designated a city monument thanks to efforts from local residents and the National Taiwan University Urban and Rural Planning Section, embodying a successful model of grassroots urban development.

Today, Kishu An Forest of Literature serves as a hub for literary activities and cultural performances, having hosted over a thousand events, making it an essential destination for literature enthusiasts in Taipei. The venue features a modern building alongside the beautifully restored historical structure, creating a harmonious blend of past and present. Visitors can enjoy a unique atmosphere filled with art, literature, and delightful refreshments at the onsite coffee shop and bookstore, enhancing the experience of exploring this historic site.
