The Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management (KCDEM) is dedicated to enhancing the preparedness and resilience of Kitsap County, WA, through comprehensive emergency management programs and volunteer initiatives. KCDEM operates a variety of programs aimed at equipping residents with the tools and knowledge to effectively respond to potential disasters, including floods, fires, and pandemics. Their initiatives include the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), which trains volunteers to assist during emergencies, and the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), comprising healthcare professionals ready to provide support in crises.

Additionally, KCDEM facilitates the KitsapALERT system, a vital communication tool that notifies residents of local threats and emergencies.
