## Description

Kitsap Peninsula Mycological Society (KPMS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Bremerton, Washington, serving a community interested in fungi and mycology. For more than 50 years, its members have collected, studied, and appreciated mushrooms. The society welcomes the public to monthly meetings, held on the second Thursday of the month except during summer, in person at Olympic College or online via Zoom. Its calendar features speakers and other public events, while its annual mushroom gathering offers opportunities to explore local species, meet experts, and browse mushrooms, books, and gifts.

KPMS supports learning through resources on mushroom identification and gathering, mycology teaching materials, recommended books, videos, and links to regional and national mushroom organizations. Its website also shares a gallery of Pacific Northwest wild mushroom photography and information about more than 30 edible mushrooms found in western Washington, including recipes and cookbook recommendations. Membership costs $25 per year for an individual and family. KPMS provides educational information but cannot identify mushroom photos sent by email.
