## Description

Save the Kiwi is the trading name of Save the Kiwi Trust, a registered New Zealand charity dedicated to restoring kiwi populations and protecting the country’s native wildlife. Its mission is to help kiwi return to places where they once thrived, working with communities and conservation partners to move the birds from endangered to widespread. The organisation supports practical conservation initiatives, including Kōhanga Kiwi, a repopulation strategy that helps grow the North Island brown kiwi population through hatching, crèche care and translocation.

Save the Kiwi also provides information and resources to help people take part in conservation. Visitors can learn about kiwi species, habitats and threats, find guidance on protecting kiwi and keeping dogs safe around wildlife, and access tools for iwi, schools and kiwi practitioners. The organisation encourages public involvement through donations, fundraising, sponsorship and reporting kiwi sightings. It also shares conservation news, progress updates and annual reports, and offers practitioner resources such as best-practice manuals, tools and videos.
