## Description

Klak is a non-profit organization owned by the University of Iceland, Reykjavik University, Origo, the Innovation Fund of Iceland's business community, and the Federation of Icelandic Industries. Klak's funding is primarily project-driven. Klak assists entrepreneurs in realizing their ideas, promotes knowledge-based startups, and thereby enhances sustainable value creation in Iceland. We help startups grow both domestically and beyond borders by accelerating their development and connecting them with experts, investors, and key stakeholders. For years, Klak has been a key player in the innovation support ecosystem in Iceland and strives to be a leading force in grassroots entrepreneurship. Our role is to expand and support the entrepreneurial community in Iceland, with the goal of increasing the number of startups. Klak supports entrepreneurs from the early stages and has been organizing Gulleggið, the country's largest startup competition, since 2008. Gulleggið provides a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs who are starting their journey. Klak organizes 3-4 business accelerators annually, catering to teams that are well on their way in product development. We actively collaborate with the Technology Development Fund and host weekly workshops for incubator clients, alongside connecting them with suitable mentors who will guide them for six months.
