## Description

KMGS, or the Kettle Moraine Geological Society, is a dedicated local non-profit organization that passionately supports science education and the art of rockhounding. As a proud member of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Society and the American Federation of Geological Societies, KMGS aims to disseminate knowledge in earth sciences, particularly geology and mineralogy. Their mission has evolved to encompass comprehensive rock collecting education, teaching safety in the field, and demonstrating techniques for working with and displaying specimens.

The society attracts a diverse range of members who share interests in minerals, gems, fossils, and Native American artifacts. With a strong focus on youth engagement, KMGS enjoys teaching young enthusiasts how to collect, identify, and showcase their rock finds. Each year, they host an annual show that not only highlights specimens but also fosters a sense of community among rockhounds. Through various projects and educational initiatives, KMGS continues to inspire and educate individuals of all ages about the wonders of our natural world.
