- **Website:** <https://knowpain.ca>
- **Primary alias:** `knowpain.ca`

## Description

Its vision is a world in which pain no longer prevents people from achieving their potential. Recognizing that pain is personal and shaped by biological, psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual factors, the group brings together expertise spanning health research, clinical practice, and community engagement.

The group aims to create patient-partnered research teams and develop methods to better understand another person’s pain. Its initiatives include data procurement and analysis, rethinking how pain research is conducted, and patient advocacy and engagement. kNOw-PAIN also plans to develop a chronic pain patient registry for Southwestern Ontario, working with local healthcare institutions, pain clinics, and community health centres to gather information across diverse chronic pain conditions.

Through its research activities, events, conferences, membership opportunities, and resources, kNOw-PAIN supports collaboration and knowledge creation and dissemination. Its work addresses the wide-ranging impact of pain, including disability and challenges associated with pain medication.
