# Knyt Sammen - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `knytsammen.dk` ## Description Knyt Sammen Ugen is the annual community festival of Hammerum/Gjellerup, Denmark, bringing residents together to celebrate friendship, social connection and local life. Established in 1974, the event is a long-standing tradition, organised around two aims: creating opportunities for people of different ages and interests to meet, and raising funds for five local sports associations: Gjellerup Sdr., Hammerum Idrætsforening, Hauge IF, Gjellerup KFUM and Sport 92. The festival’s programme combines activities and entertainment for families and neighbours, including sports and exercise, children’s events, games, music, talks, a church service, bingo, food and social gatherings. Activities have included bouncy castles, waterballs, a climbing wall, races, yoga, singing and live performances. Local advertisers, sponsors and volunteers help make the event possible, and all proceeds are distributed equally among the five associations. The clubs use their allocations to support sports activities, equipment and facilities. Knyt Sammen Ugen offers the community a welcoming way to enjoy time together while supporting local sport.
