## Description

Kogmento is a home technology system designed to bring security, lighting, entertainment and computing together in one configurable platform. Built on Ubuntu and using a client/server architecture, it connects a central system with authorised Android mobile and tablet clients. Its main interface can be viewed on televisions around the home, with support for connecting up to eight TVs and streaming content.

The system lets users control lights, wired alarm zones and IP cameras, including remotely through encrypted connections. Lighting can be grouped into areas, dimmed or scheduled, while compatible alarms can be managed by zone. Kogmento also offers camera viewing and positioning, plus DVR recording for up to four cameras. Mobile and tablet apps provide controls for these features and can also act as media-centre remotes and keyboards.

For entertainment, Kogmento incorporates XBMC and MythTV, including live TV and personal video recording capabilities. The platform can also provide access to LibreOffice, internet browsing and other computer tools. Kogmento offers installation assistance and describes updates for existing customers as free.
