Since its formation in 1991, KOHRW has been dedicated to providing humanitarian and development services to those affected by United Nations Security Council sanctions on Iraq. Today, KOHRW operates on a national level across all 18 governorates of Iraq, working with partners and communities to save lives in emergencies and help people rebuild their lives. KOHRW's vision is to create a new Iraq where human dignity, human rights, freedom, and justice are protected. Their mission is to improve vulnerable groups in Iraq, promote human rights, provide relief and development services, and advocate for democratic practices and gender equity. The objectives of KOHRW include coordinating with governmental and non-governmental entities to support vulnerable aspects of the community, protecting the dignity of vulnerable groups through relief aid and basic services, establishing peace and stability, promoting social awareness of human rights, and encouraging volunteer work and the involvement of youth in policy-making processes. Under the leadership of Executive Director Hoshyar Malo, KOHRW has made significant contributions to defending human rights and fundamental freedoms. The organization is currently running successful relief and development projects across Iraq.
